The following media statement was published by the Joint International Observer Group on 12 June 2015 regarding their observations of the 2015 ABG General Election.
An international observer group has finished observing the 2015 Autonomous Region of Bougainville’s election, following an invitation from the Papua New Guinea and Autonomous Bougainville Governments. International observers were present across North, Central and South Bougainville throughout the polling, sorting and counting periods of the election. The group included representatives from Australia, the European Union, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Continue reading

THE writs for the 2015 ABG General Elections will be returned tomorrow. The acting Bougainville Electoral Commissioner, Mr George Manu will be returning the writs to ABG Speaker Andrew Miriki.
This ceremony will take place at the ABG parliament chamber at 4pm. The return of writs will mark the completion of the 2015 ABG General Elections.
COUNTING for the 2015 ABG General Elections is now complete.

A TOTAL of thirteen declarations have already been made for various constituency seats in the Bougainville House of Representatives. These include three in North Region, five in Central Region and five in South Region. Continue reading
ALL Presidential ballots from Central and South Bougainville have already been transported to the North Region counting centre in Buka.
The ballot boxes were transported under tight police escort to the counting centre at the Hutjena secondary school just after midday today. Continue reading
